Raid Inc.’s Ability 2U4NVMe helps to respond to your business requirements faster and simplifies your IT infrastructure. This all-flash storage appliance delivers the performance advantages of a purpose-built, NVMe flash-optimized architecture without compromising resiliency, data scalability, or data integrity. Get virtualization, compute, and storage in a hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) appliance that’s easy to deploy, manage, protect, and scale.

Ability 2U4NVMe includes a dense compute design equipped with four independent nodes performance-tuned for hyperconvergence architectures. It creates the flexibility to set up different workloads independently in one 2U shared infrastructure, providing optimal data center performance per dollar. Each node supports two NVMe SSDs.

Solution Details

The Ability 2U4NVMe Ultra-High Performance NVMe Flash Array Quad Server combines twenty four (24) 2.5” NVMe drives,which are three times as fast as  conventional high-end 12Gbps SAS SSDs. The 2U4NVMe operates with the latest Intel® Xeon™ class (Broadwell) E5-2600 v4 product family and the newest DDR4 memory technology up to 1024 GB capacity. It provides maximum 18-core count CPU with enhanced QPI bandwidth to 9.6GT/s, a 20 percent improvement from the previous generation.

This Ability NVMe all-flash appliance provides ultra-low latency access to the flash array while supporting up to 4 x 100Gb Ethernet connectivity. The 2U4NVMe allows for dynamic reconfiguration of the NVMe drives and Hot Plug to the four servers to best match data traffic requirements. Each of the two pairs of server can be mirrored via dual link x8 non-transparent bridges to the complementary pair when supported by drivers, OS or processors.

Developed as ultra-high performance servers with extreme configurability on demand for tier one HPC and caching applications requiring high I/O, high bandwidth and/or sub millisecond access latency in a small form factor.

Unparalleled Performance

Fully leverages the greater speed of PCIe/NVMe SSDs compared to SAS/SATA SSDs, the Ability 2U4NVMe is the first integrated server to achieve better than 15 M IOPS (4kB read blocks) with sub-millisecond access time in a 2U form factor. Provides up to 400Gb/s Ethernet connectivity.

Robust Enterprise-Grade Functionality

The RAID Inc NVMe flash appliance offers robust enterprise-grade availability, reliability and serviceability. For easy swap-out, all active data path components are contained within field-replaceable units (FRUs), including fans, SSD drives, interposers, power supply units (PSUs), energy storage modules (ESMs) and server modules.
